This song sounds like a love song and in some sense it is. But it's not a typical love song. This song is about drugs. And highs. "I find it hard to say bye-bye" he's addicted and is finding it hard to break this addiction.

"How could I refuse, yeah your with me in the blues" stating that drugs are what are with him at his darkest times. He perceives them as feeling beings. And feels as though he is abusing their loyalty to him if he only ever used them when he wants to and not when they want to be used and he feels as if he is abandoning them if he give up taking them.
