I am the father of four daughters. On November 23, 2015, my oldest daughter Sarah committed suicide at the age of 17. She and I both are big Daughtry fans and we both always liked and appreciated this song. The day I lost her, this song took on a whole new meaning. Every lyric applies to what could have been and should have been. It has nearly been a year and every time I hear this song I just go to pieces all over again.
