The harlot is the demon who makes you sin and wat not and the beast is... Well.. U no.. The devil. The city is the city of evil where ppl go when they wanna do stuff theyr not supposed to. The line that says "made the wrong decision
and it's easy to see. Now if you wanna serve above or be a king below with us your
welcome to the city where your future is set forever"
well, that's wat I think it is but other ppl have different opinions about it.

The song is about the precursor to the end times and armageddon.... Several lines from this song are taken from the biblical book of revelations. The movie they made does not necesarily display the exact images and story of revelations... But the song very much does. The movie they made supports the idea of the "harlot of lust" consuming everyday life and causing us to sin.

The harlot tempts people to behave poorly and sin, as she does in revelations. Which is where the metaphorical line "makes us drink the poisoned wine" comes from. (which can be found in the book of revelations) the poisoned wine represents our temptation and will to sin.

This harlot is accompanied by an 8 headed beast with 10 horns on which she rides on in revelations. Each of the beast's heads represent (what I believe) to be an evil nation or leader, which promoted the horrid acts of man kind... Especially in this past century (hitler, stalin, mussolinni, even george bush). Thats where the line "fornicating with our kings" comes from. (which is also from the book of revelations)

revelations is very much filled with metaphors and a7x made a video which does a very good job of displaying them in my opinion.
If you want to fully understand much of a7x's work I suggest you actually read the book of revelations for much of their material is based upon this biblical book about the end of the world.

As many of you might know "chapter four" is from the book of genesis. Along with their name: avenged sevenfold.
The title of their second album, "sounding of the seventh trumpet", is also derived from the book of revelations.
So, if ure interested, take the time to read revelations and maybe you will find a whole new reason to love a7x... If ure interested in fully understanding the band and their beliefs that is. Its the last one in the bible and its short...
