There's an inherent 'nature of the beast' that desires the greatest gain from the least possible effort. Many attempt to deny this being part of their "civilized" make up, but truth betrays them the instant an opportunity to profit off of others appears in reach. The dog eat dog nature inevitably rears its self promoting head determined to take ownership of the metaphorical pot of gold regardless of rather or not it was earned or deserved. Dog eat dog means, I will sell you out to serve myself no matter what the cost is to you. Man will lay claim to your harvest as their own hard earned rewards. And "the kind man", when concealed by the shadows of secrecy, will volunteer to help increase the odds of pulling off such acts assuming their own greed is satisfied with the answer to, "Hey, what's in it for me?" Animals are self serving opprotunists always on the hunt. People are not mostly good despite misrepresentations convincing us to trust false illusion claiming otherwise. THAT is what dog eat dog is written about.There are no exemptions. Eventually, every dog has his day.
That's the natural order.
